Metal Halide

Metal Halide
Metal halide sources are broad spectrum white light sources that typically appear pinkish (3000K) or greenish (4000K) in color. Using high intensity discharge technology, metal halide sources are capable of producing high lumen packages with the highest center beam candlepower available; however, they require a warm-up period after switching on, are incapable of dimming, and have difficulty restriking after power interruption. Available in a variety of package sizes, metal halide sources are used in small aperture track heads and downlights as well as large high-bay fixtures.

USAI Lighting Metal Halide LED Replacement Solution
USAI Lighting's Max Output technology provides a suitable LED replacement for metal halide, as it realizes metal halide's propensity for higher lumen packages in smaller package sizes with LED. The high intensity, tight beam distributions, and color quality of metal halide are easily realized with USAI Lighting's BeveLED 2.1 family, which features an array of lumen packages and optical solutions up to 2600 lumens. For projects where even greater lumen packages are required, the BeveLED 5.0 family offers delivered lumen packages of over 3,000, 4,000, 5,000  or 6,000 lumens. For the closest match to a traditional metal halide source, specify a 3500K or 4000K LED color temperature. And of course, our metal halide led replacement options have the added bonus of perfectly smooth dimming!
